Jewelry – ShimmerPom Earrings

with Nathalie Mornu

Learn how to make a three-dimensional ball stitched from sequins and seed beads on a felt base. Each ball measures 1 inch in diameter and has a metal ring so you can dangle it from an ear wire. We’ll make them from periwinkle-colored sequins on the outside, with navy blue sequins and rose seed beads at the center. This is a beginner-level project, and you’ll have enough time to finish the earrings during class. You’ll feel like dancing and shimmying with these glimmery balls of texture bobbing at your lobes!

The workshop will cover the following:

  • Marking the felt base so the sequins are the same distance from each other
  • Starting and stopping stitching
  • Using a stay stitch to keep the sequins in place
  • Whip stitch to hold the components together
  • The class cost includes all the materials; the instructor will bring all necessary tools for students to complete the jewelry project
  • Students will leave with a finished pair of earrings and written instructions, complete with step-by-step instructions
